We had a blast running LANified! 23: Courier Connection, and we hope you enjoyed it too!

We want to hear what you have to say, be it good, bad and/or ugly. We want to know as much as you'll tell us so we can continue to provide outstanding events, and even improve on them continually too!

Perhaps consider the following questions, but we'll take whatever feedback you'll give us too:

  • How did you first hear about this event? (LANified! 23: Courier Connection)
  • How did you first hear about LANified! in general?
  • What did you like about the event?
  • What did you dislike about the event?
  • Would you attend future LANified! events?
  • If you were to tell others why they should attend LANified! events, what would you say?
  • What did you think of this event's mini-tournaments?
  • What mini-tournaments would you want to see in the future?
  • What more would you want to see from LANified!?
  • Is there anything else you would like to add?

I first heard about lanified from a friend when he was searching dota 2 related content. Considering it was my first LaN party it was very fun experience meeting new people with the same interest, we scrimmed with another team that stayed all night and we had a blast! I would attend to the next lan party for sure! and we didn't encounter any problems with the internet everything was already set up for us. It would be nice to have a custom game mini tournament like a Overthrow tourney or something fun. I would attend to the future lan party for sure r8 8/8 m8

How did you first hear about this event? (LANified! 23: Courier Connection)
I went to the previous Dota LANified so I checked the website frequently to see when there was another one. I was also notified by BloodyIron when there was another Dota LANified.

How did you first hear about LANified! in general?
A group of friends who have been going for years first told me about LANified.

What did you like about the event?
I really like Dota and any chance to play in a competitive atmosphere is always a good time.

What did you dislike about the event?
The set up is a little bit awkward for a game like Dota 2. Having opposing teams within ear shot is definitely detrimental in a heavily communication based game such as Dota. They pay out structure is a little bit weird as well. I understand that it costs time and money to rent the community center and set up equipment to be able to host LANified but there are situations in which if 30 people don't prepay you may end up taking first place and losing money. Lakeview Community Center is also quite far away from places to get snacks and stuff if you don't have access to a car. I went to a Project X LAN once and they had a guy from The Node gaming centre selling engery drinks and such, this could be a potential way to remedy this situation if changing the venue is out of the question.

Would you attend future LANified! events?
Possibly. Convincing 4 friends to prepay ~$50 to move their computers to a community center for a potential chance of losing ~$10 even if we take first place can be somewhat of a rough sell. Hopefully LANified can continue to grow and offer bigger prize pools and better venues. If that happens and my friends schedules happen to align I will definitely be attending again.

If you were to tell others why they should attend LANified! events, what would you say?
"Hey are you bad at Dota 2? Great come to this LAN event."

What did you think of this event's mini-tournaments?
I can take them or leave them.

What mini-tournaments would you want to see in the future?
Dota 2 has a growing number of high quality custom games, maybe you could use some of those for mini-tournaments.

What more would you want to see from LANified!?
It would be great to see it grow and just get bigger and better. Dota 2 LAN tournaments can be insanely fun, a bit awkward though when there are only 3-4 teams participating.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Great event and hopefully it continues to grow. I think just getting more people to attending and snowballing in popularity is all the event needs to remedy almost every point I made about what I disliked about the event.

How did you first hear about this event? (LANified! 23: Courier Connection)
facebook told me

How did you first hear about LANified! in general?
Hallucinate told me

What did you like about the event?
i like that there was dota to watch and i like that my loser friends lost every single game

What did you dislike about the event?
the fact that the teams sat right next to each other fucked up a lot of the games. i also wasn't allowed to use the power outlets as a spectator which made me roll around on the floor in a puddle of my own tears later
location's a huge pain to get to if you don't drive

Would you attend future LANified! events?
sure

If you were to tell others why they should attend LANified! events, what would you say?
i don't know

What did you think of this event's mini-tournaments?
fun to watch i guess but a lot of people hate ability draft. i think ardm would be a better choice. or 10v10 if there's enough people

What more would you want to see from LANified!?
more people, better chairs

Is there anything else you would like to add?
10/10 roof

Very fun tournament although lacking more participants. It was a great way to meet other players and be able to play in a local setting. The prizes were meh, but understandable due to the size. Can't wait to see what it becomes in the future!
