LANified! invites you to our next grand event, LANified! 17: MOBA Madness. This event is a two day LAN party featuring plenty of social gaming and tournaments with up to $800 in cash prizing!

But what is a LAN party?

LAN parties are gaming events where people bring their computers (desktops or laptops) to a designated location and connect them all in one network.

Okay, that sounds interesting, why should I haul my rig to such an event?

There are great things going on at LAN parties, plenty of other people will be there who love gaming and want to play games with you. You'll be able to discover games you haven't seen before, form teams to compete in tournaments and win cash, stay up late playing crazy mods together, swap files at blazing gigabit speeds and so much more. Our LAN parties offer a continual event where you get to come and have a lot of fun with other gamers, you might even make some friends.

You sold me, I want to go, what do I need to know?

If you plan to attend our event we recommend you sign up. You make an account (or use one if you already have one), then on this page hit the sign-up button once you've logged in. If you are absolutely certain you are attending we highly recommend you prepay. Once you sign up, go back to this page, then hit prepay, it's in the same spot, the rest should be a breeze. Prepaying guarantees you a seat and is more affordable than our at the door price.

Once the event rolls around we recommend you consider the following things to bring and not to bring:

What to bring:
  • Yourself
  • Your PC
  • Power bar (Must have a working ground pin)
  • Mouse Pad, Mouse, Keyboard, and any other controllers you might want to use
  • Food or money for food
  • Headphones (no speakers)
  • Games (do not forget to bring cd-keys as well as original disks in case you need to re-install)
  • Sleeping supplies (pillows, blankets/sleeping bags, toothbrush, DEODORANT, etc)
  • Picture ID which shows age (required for check-in at the event)
  • Parent/Legal Guardian to sign waiver if you are not of legal age ( found here: https://www.lanified.com/downloads/LANi ... 1_2014.pdf )

What not to bring:
  • Drugs
  • Alcohol
  • Bad Attitude
  • Fridges
  • Coolers
  • Pets (this includes bears and cats in tanks)
  • Network cables (we provide them)

What games will people be playing?

As people sign up for the event we ask them what games they want to play. Once they have signed up, the games they selected are added to a list. We tally up that list and present it at the bottom of the event details page (this page) under "Game Preference". As more people sign up this list grows and changes, it is updated in real time! We also want this list to help people find other gamers who like similar games.

I want to play games other than the games in your tournaments, am I still welcome?

We cannot run a tournament for every game out there, it's just not feasible. However there is lots of social gaming going on at our LAN parties which does not rely on the tournaments. Plenty of attendees play games together on an ad-hoc basis; sometimes this is a game they have played before, sometimes this is a game they have never played before. LAN parties are all about gaming together be it socially or competitively. So yes, you are very welcome to come join in on the fun!

I am new to competitive gaming, can I still enter the tournaments?

Everyone starts somewhere. We welcome gamers of all shapes and sizes into our tournaments, so yes you certainly can still enter, we encourage it!

When do the tournaments happen and what is the prizing?

Tournament/Event schedule:
  • 10am Saturday - Event opens to the public
  • 1pm Saturday - DotA2 tournament registration opens
  • 2pm Saturday - DotA2 tournament registration closes
  • Late evening Saturday (after DotA2 tournament) - Mini-tournaments start
  • 11am Sunday - League of Legends tournament registration opens
  • Noon Sunday - League of Legends tournament registration closes
  • 6pm Sunday - Event closes to the public

Tournament prizing:
League of Legends: 5v5 - Round-Robin (minimum 5 teams)
  • $300 - 1st / $100 - 2nd

  • $300 - 1st / $100 - 2nd

Mini-tournament prizing:

DotA 2 - Ability Draft
  • Surprise!

With so many people at the event, is there a good way to find people to play with?

It is important to remember that if you see someone playing a game and want to join in, you really should just ask them. However, if you need some more help, we recommend you head to our networks page ( https://www.lanified.com/networks ) and scroll down to the "LANified! Chat" part. Enter your nickname, hit Connect, and it will put you in an IRC chat room. It is straight forward text chat and we encourage all attendees to use it. If you want to change your nickname just do a /nick (newnickname) example /nick BloodyIron.

Are there rules?

There are rules for each tournament, if you plan to enter a tournament you must review them. As for general event rules, they are:

  • Smoking is only allowed in the parking lot. You cannot smoke indoors, outside the entrance, or on the grass or walkway up to the entrance.
  • People are allowed to come and go as they see fit. However, property cannot leave the hall between the hours of midnight (0000hrs) and 8am (0800hrs). Your property (more specifically whatever bags/equipment/supplies you bring) will be barred exit during these hours.
  • Headphones are required, considering this please be respectful of others regarding sound. You must also be cautious of noise outdoors after 10pm. If you are rowdy you will be asked to leave at our discretion.
