LANified! 2026.1: The Good/Bad/Ugly

Published on 6/17/26, 3:29 PM

Gamers, this is BloodyIron.

We have a whole bunch of News to bring to you today. Good, Bad, and Ugly news.

Please read all the news as the Good News is important too!

First, the Bad & Ugly News

On April 28 2026 we were informed that our usage of the facilities at DoubleTree were cancelled for both of our events, and that the facility does not otherwise have openings until after November 2026. None of this was due to action or inaction on our part, and is actually because a much larger booking took over that space and another from June 15 to November 30 2026.

Since being informed of this, I personally have been trying to figure out alternative facilities. Initially I was hoping to see if we could use the same dates, but at this point we really have no option but to go with other dates, assuming we even actually can run an event in 2026.

As such, despite our best efforts, we are giiven no choice but to cancel events LANified! 39: Catalyst (June 26-28 2026), and LANified! 40: Full Circle (Oct 2-4 2026). Anyone that has purchased tickets for these events WILL be refunded promptly.

Going forward we are still trying to figure out which facilities to use, dates, and stuff like that. We are still trying to figure out events for the remaining 2026 year, but we cannot promise them to you, just yet.

Additionally we are adding minimum participation aspects for each Tournament, as well as minimum BYO Seats filled for Events going forward. We want to better communicate to the public (you, fellow gamer) the threshold that we need on our end to make the various things happen, including events themselves. It's obvious to anyone that any event costs money, and needs a minimum number of tickets sold. However we are hoping that clearly communicating this going forward will help improve attendance. To make it simply clear, if we do not sell enough tickets that are for BYO Seats, an event doesn't happen. For each Tournament, if it does not reach the minimum registration amount, we do not run it. However, this also means that if we DO reach those thresholds for Events, and Tournaments, you can rest assured that it is LOCKED IN. We WILL run the things we commit to.

We at LANified! and I myself personally appreciate you even reading this and your support of what we do, and where we want to go. I hope that you continue reading the news, because it only gets better.

Second, the Good News

Since we resumed operations in Q1 2025 (let's say January 1 for simplicity) the traffic on our website, the level of interest in what we do, and gamers wanting to attend has done nothing but go up. While our attendance numbers so far have not been sustainable, we see evidence so strong that these events are worth putting on, that we simply cannot ignore it. Since we resumed our website has seen a total of 18,185 pageviews (as of writing this news post). The traffic has continually shown an upward trend, and engagement with what we do has followed suit.

We continue to work on getting better in every way we possibly can find. And one of those things is the addition of two new sections: Articles & Surveys.

  • We will be writing Articles speaking about many topics involved in our gaming events, and similar events. One of our first Articles will talk about Mouse Acceleration and how that matters in gaming. Topics may include how to prepare for LAN parties, eSports insights/advice, Technical topics related to our inner-workings, as just a start.
  • Surveys are where we want to ask you (fellow gamers) specific questions to help us better adapt and grow.

In fact, we have a Survey on right now that we really want you to fill out. All our Surveys require that you log into the website with a LANified! Account. Click here for our first Survey.

There are some new announcements hidden in that Survey, so if you want to read more about the News we have to share, go check that out.

This Sucks, and Thanks

It's a real bummer that we have had to cancel these events, I for one am quite sad about it. But we are not done. Nothing worth doing is ever without failure. And I am far too stubborn to give up.

So thank you for reading this far, your support, and I hope to see you at our next events. If you want to keep touch and engage with us outside of our events, we recommend you join us on LANified! HUB and maybe some of the secrets hidden in that first Survey. ;)
